Getting started
How Supplymo works and how to start your first product check.
3 articles
- How does Supplymo work, step by step? You send a product clue, Supplymo checks the 1688 route before you pay, and only after you approve a quote does any purchase happen. The first feasibility check is free.
- How do I submit a product link for a check?Paste a product link, upload an image, or type a keyword on the product-check page. You do not need an account or a Chinese payment method to start.
- Do I need a Chinese account or Alipay to buy from 1688?No. If you use Supplymo's assisted order, you do not need a 1688 account, a Chinese phone number, or Alipay. Supplymo handles the China-side ordering after you approve the quote.
Sourcing & quotes
Reports, supplier checks, MOQ, and how a quote is prepared before payment.
7 articles
- What is inside a Supplymo sourcing report? The $29 report is a written before-payment decision: 1688 match quality, a cost stack, MOQ/SKU pressure, prep needs, route fit, supplier-risk flags, and a recommended next action.
- How does Supplymo check a supplier before I pay?Supplymo reviews real 1688 listing and shop signals — match quality, listing consistency, and risk flags — so you can decide before committing money. It is a risk read, not a guarantee.
- How do I get a quote before paying?Submit a product check, then request an assisted order. Supplymo prepares a quote with product cost, China shipping, service fee, prep, and a shipping estimate. Nothing is purchased until you approve it.
- What is MOQ and how do I calculate it?MOQ is the minimum order quantity a supplier will accept. It drives your unit price and total spend, so check it before committing. Supplymo's MOQ calculator helps you model quantity against cost.
- Should I source from 1688 or AliExpress?1688 unit prices are often lower, but MOQ, China domestic shipping, service fees, prep, and international shipping change the real decision. Compare landed cost, not just unit price.
- How do I request a product sample?Submit the product, then request a sample. A sample is the safest way to confirm quality before a larger order — especially when MOQ is high or the supplier is new to you.
- What labeling and prep options are available?Supplymo can quote labeling, polybagging, simple repack, and label removal/re-labeling when packaging allows. Use the prep calculator to estimate, and provide label files for SKU/barcode/FNSKU work.
Quality & evidence
What photo confirmation covers — and what it does not.
2 articles
- What is the difference between photo confirmation and full QC?Supplymo provides photo confirmation — visual evidence and counts after goods arrive in China. It is not a full third-party inspection, compliance test, or quality guarantee.
- What products will Supplymo not source?Counterfeit, infringing, dangerous, unsafe, platform-prohibited, hard-to-ship, or unclear high-risk goods may be declined or sent to manual review. Use the restricted-products checker before you commit.
Payment & fees
What you actually pay, when you pay, and how currency is handled.
4 articles
- What does Supplymo cost? The first product check is free. The full written report is $29. Assisted ordering is 3% of order value (minimum $59). Prep and shipping are quoted based on the actual goods.
- What payment methods can I use?Supplymo accepts PayPal, card, bank transfer, and Stripe, plus wallet balance. You pay Supplymo — not the supplier directly — and only after you approve a quote.
- How is currency and exchange rate handled?Supplier costs are in CNY and your quote is shown in your currency using the rate at the time. Rates move, so the figure before purchase is an estimate until payment is taken.
- Is it safe to pay Supplymo? You pay Supplymo — not an unknown supplier — and only after you approve a quote. Costs are itemized and traceable. There is no lowest-price guarantee; the value is transparency and risk control before payment.
Shipping & customs
Landed cost, freight routes, HS codes, and where customs is your responsibility.
7 articles
- How do I estimate landed cost from China?Add product cost, China domestic shipping, service and prep fees, international freight, and destination duty/VAT. Supplymo's landed-cost calculator stacks these into one figure as an estimate.
- How is shipping cost from China calculated?Shipping is based on the greater of actual weight or volumetric weight (CBM), plus route, fuel, and handling. Pack size matters as much as weight. Use the shipping and CBM tools to estimate.
- Air vs sea vs rail freight from China: which should I use?Air is fastest and best for small, urgent, high-value goods. Sea is cheapest per kg for large volumes but slow. Rail (to Europe) sits in between. Match the route to weight, value, and timeline.
- How do I find the HS code and import duty for my product?Identify the HS code that matches your product, then look up the duty and VAT/GST rate for your destination country. Supplymo's HS and duty tools help, but the official source for your country is authoritative.
- Who handles customs duty and import tax?Destination duty, import tax, and clearance are the buyer's responsibility. Supplymo helps you estimate landed cost and find your HS code, but does not provide customs advice or guarantee outcomes.
- Can Supplymo prep my goods for Amazon FBA?Yes, when you provide the requirements and label files. Supplymo can inspect, polybag, and apply FNSKU/SKU labels before shipment. Complex kitting or assembly is not a default first-stage service.
- What is the de minimis (low-value) import threshold?De minimis is the value below which a country charges little or no import duty/tax. It varies by country and changes over time, so always confirm the current threshold with the official source.
After-sales
Returns, cancellations, refunds, and tracking.
2 articles
- What is the returns and exchange policy? Before you approve a quote, a request can stop at no cost. After approval and purchase, product cost, shipping, and handling may already be committed, so options depend on the case and the supplier.
- How do I track my order and parcel?Tracking is created after quote approval, purchase, China-side receiving, prep, route selection, and outbound shipment. Until handoff, status updates come from your order timeline rather than a carrier number.
